L’Oreal India appoints Amit Jain as first Indian Managing Director

Amit Jain will be the first Indian managing director of L’Oreal India on 1 August, And he will also look after L’Oréal’s Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal operations.

Amit is a transformational leader, a wildlife conservation supporter and an advocate for underprivileged childrens’ literacy. He replaces Jean-Christophe Letellier who, after five years in the role, will take on a new position within the L’Oréal group.

Mr. Jain will be the company’s first Indian managing director, has more than 30 years of experience with companies such as Imperial Chemical Industries , Coca-Cola and Viacom. In his last role Amit has been Managing Director Decorative Coatings – North and West Europe at Akzo Nobel NV since January 2014. Mr. Jain served as Managing Director of Decorative Paints for India & South Asia at Akzo Nobel NV since August 2, 2011 and served as its Group Managing Director of India Operations December 2013.

Previously Amit worked as an Executive Vice President and Managing Director of MTV Networks India China & Southeast Asia at MTV Networks India Private Limited since June 20, 2007.

He holds an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi, and has done an Advanced Management Program from the Wharton Business School.
