Sacked Tata Steel executive shoots Subsidiary Manager dead in Faridabad


A Senior Manager “Arindam Pal” of Tata Steel Processing and Distribution Ltd at the Faridabad was shot dead on Friday afternoon; Police said the shooting took place around 1pm yesterday at Tata’s Hardware Chowk office, a former employee “Vishwash Pandey”, sacked about four-five months ago is behind the crime.

Police said, the victim, Arindam Pal, hails from Kolkata and was senior manager (supply chain) at the stockyard located in Faridabad’s New Industrial Township (NIT) area.  And the accused, Vishwash Pandey, hails from Allahabad.

“The company had started an inquiry against Vishwash Pandey and relieved him of his services four to five months ago, on grounds of indiscipline. The report of the inquiry, on the basis of which he was sacked, was submitted by the deceased,” said Sube Singh, PRO of Faridabad police. “It is suspected that Pandey held a grudge against him for this reason, and murdered him in revenge.

“Accused Vishwash Pandey directly entered the cabin of Arindam Pal and shot him five times,” police also added.

Arindam Pal was rushed to a local hospital, but was declared dead on arrival… After initial checkup the doctor said that he was shot five times, however, the details will be clear after the post-mortem. The post-mortem will be conducted on Saturday,” said Ashok Kumar, station house officer (SHO) of Mujesar police station, where a case has been registered regarding the matter under IPC section 302 (murder).

Tata Steel said “Mr Pal is survived by his wife, parents and a daughter, The company extends its condolences to his family and is extending all possible support and help to the family at this time of crisis,”

Vishwash Pandey, worked with TSPDL from 2015 till 2018. He was discharged from the services of the company in August 2018. After shooting Mr Pal, he immediately ran out of the office and is still at large.
