Wipro has doubled its campus hiring in FY20 as compared to the FY19, and it will continue this momentum, said Saurabh Govil, Chief Human Resources Officer, Wipro.

Our localization journey in the US started three years ago. We built a local campus hiring plan in the US, added Saurabh Govil without telling the exact number of employees.

Mr. Govil said that “Our campus hiring in India this fiscal is double of what we have done in the previous fiscal. Our clear focus is to hire more freshers and train them in the latest technologies.”

Wipro added close to 5,865 employees in Q3. In the first quarter, the company said it had hired 6,000 freshers, and will likely continue the carry on the momentum in hiring to other quarters as well.- Moneycontrol

According to the Livemint report, Wipro’s voluntary attrition has declined to 15.7 percent.

In conversation with SightsIn Plus, answering a question on Wipro’s attrition rate, Mr. Govil said, Retaining people and managing attrition is a concerted effort by business and HR. We are conscientiously deploying HR strategy which is yielding the intended outcomes. Our HR teams are playing the role of advocating employee concerns while at the same time guiding business on aligning rewards and careers in line with performance.  At the org level, we have made significant changes in some people processes like promotion to accommodate growing aspirations.

In response to another question on Wipro’s layoff plan, Saurabh said, from a Wipro perspective as of now, there are no layoffs and we continue to hire in large numbers.

In Q3 FY19, the company reported a net profit of Rs 2,544.4 crore and in Q2 FY20 Rs 2,561.2 crore. The company’s total revenue climbed 2.73 percent to Rs 15,470.50 crore in the third quarter against Rs 15,059.50 crore in the same period last year.
