Global IT consulting giant Accenture has rolled out salary hikes ranging from 3% to 13% for employees at Level 8 (Associate Manager) and above, marking the first such increment in two-and-a-half years.

The move signals cautious optimism amid ongoing economic and geopolitical uncertainties.

While the highest salary hike bracket reaches double digits, employees remain lukewarm about the announcement, given the prolonged wait for pay adjustments.

Accenture Salary Hikes and Promotions

Accenture’s June performance cycle includes salary hikes for eligible employees.

This cycle also coincides with promotions for nearly 50,000 employees globally, including approximately 15,000 in India.

Ajay Vij, Senior Country Managing Director of Accenture India, stated in an internal communication that the company will implement stay-at-level (base pay) increases.

These adjustments will benefit employees who were excluded from the December cycle. They will also support those working in key growth areas.

Ajay emphasized that by the end of FY25, most of Accenture’s workforce in India will have received a base pay increase.

These adjustments will come through either promotions or stay-at-level increases.

The Dublin-headquartered firm currently employs around 800,000 people worldwide.

Economic Context and Industry Comparisons

The salary hikes come at a time when Indian IT companies such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Wipro have delayed wage hikes, citing business environment concerns.

TCS announced that it would defer salary increments, rolling them out based on market conditions, while Wipro stated that wage hikes would be decided closer to the date.

Accenture’s decision follows a period of stagnation in salary increments, as the company navigated a volatile global business environment.

Despite a rebound in revenue growth through FY24, operating margins have come under pressure compared to the previous year.

Accenture AI Integration and Future Growth

Accenture’s Q2FY25 results, declared on March 20, showed broad-based revenue growth across markets, industries, and client demands.

The company raised the lower end of its annual revenue forecast, driven by growing demand for AI-powered tools in business operations.

The firm remains focused on disciplined execution, helping clients lead reinvention efforts, particularly as it prepares for strong growth in FY25.

Accenture will communicate the June promotions between May 26-29 and share the details on May 29.

However, bonus and variable pay will continue to follow the December cycle.
