Q- What are the current workplace challenges in 2024, how do you seen in future?
We’re in a time of rapid workplace transformation where flexibility, inclusivity, and continuous learning are no longer optional—they’re essential. The shift to on-site, remote, and hybrid setups is redefining work structures and creating new opportunities for companies to engage employees on a deeper level.
Employees today are not only looking for flexible work options but also seeking roles that provide purpose and a balanced experience. Additionally, with economic fluctuations affecting daily lives, financial security and well-being have become vital aspects of workplace priorities.
Digital transformation is further reshaping industries, leading to an increased demand for upskilling and adaptability.
At Godrej Capital, we’re taking proactive steps to turn these challenges into growth opportunities. We’re committed to creating a supportive work environment that recognizes individual needs and empowers our people.
We’re working on creating enriching work experiences—through dedicated reskilling programs, well-being support, and a flexible, inclusive culture where everyone can thrive. By prioritizing these aspects, we aim to create a space that not only adapts to change but anticipates and supports our employees’ evolving aspirations and needs.
This approach reflects our belief that by enabling people to bring their whole selves to work, we can cultivate resilience and build a future-ready workforce.
Q- At Godrej Capital, how do you cultivate resilience and perseverance within the team?
Resilience isn’t built overnight; it’s cultivated through a supportive environment, encouragement, and opportunities to learn. In today’s fast-paced world, organizations need to be resilient, and so do their people. It’s about developing a mindset where challenges become stepping stones rather than roadblocks.
Also, while being resilient is very critical, so is being vulnerable. It is important that we leaders speak about our own vulnerabilities. It helps make leaders more relatable and believable as human beings. And as we accept our own vulnerabilities and grow along with them, we become more resilient.
At Godrej Capital, we foster resilience by prioritizing continuous learning, upskilling, and personal growth. We understand that resilience isn’t just about handling adversity, but also about providing the right environment for people to thrive. That’s why we follow the core principles of the Godrej Industries Group, such as creating an inclusive workspace in its true sense, where every employee feels respected, valued, and empowered.
We offer trust-based sick leave policies and one of the best-in-the-industry medical cover, allowing our people the flexibility to manage their health and well-being without added pressure. Additionally, continuous learning is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that employees are always developing the skills they need to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities.
We also celebrate milestones—small and large—emphasizing the achievements that drive both personal and organizational growth. Recognition isn’t just applause; it’s a reinforcement of a resilient mindset. When challenges arise, our employees know they have the company’s full backing to not only address them but grow from them.
This combination of supportive policies and practices helps us build a culture of perseverance where each person feels empowered to tackle challenges head-on, knowing they have the tools and support to succeed.
Incorporating these principles into our culture ensures that resilience is not just about bouncing back; it’s about accepting our whole selves and continuous progress. At Godrej Capital, we aim to support our employees in every step of that journey.
Q- What measures are in place to support employee mental health and well-being amid current workplace stressors?
Mental health and well-being have become essential pillars of a healthy workplace. In a time when workplace stress and external pressures are high, we know that supporting our employees’ well-being is non-negotiable. Mental health support isn’t just a benefit at Godrej Capital—it’s a part of our culture and commitment to our people.
We’ve introduced several well-being programs that provide employees with resources whenever they need them, including mental health support through counselling services and wellness apps as part of our medical health policy. We also encourage open discussions around mental health, reducing stigma and creating an environment where seeking help is both accepted and supported.
In addition to mental health resources, we understand the importance of family support. Our Caregiver Policy provides employees with assistance for elderly caregiving, recognizing the unique demands this responsibility brings. We also offer a Caregiver Daycare Policy, extended even to employees on probation, helping working caregivers manage their duties with greater peace of mind.
Through these initiatives, we strive to foster a culture that not only acknowledges mental and emotional health but also provides meaningful support for balancing work and family responsibilities. This approach empowers our people to feel both supported and equipped to navigate life’s demands with balance and resilience.
