Akasa Air ropes in Sejal Haribhakti as CHRO from Unilever

Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, has announced the appointment of Sejal Haribhakti Mody as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective September 9, 2024.

This strategic move underscores Akasa’s commitment to organizational excellence and employee-centric operations as it aims to ascend into the ranks of the world’s top 30 airlines by the end of this decade.

Driving Transformation and Talent Excellence at Akasa Air

As CHRO, Sejal will spearhead Akasa Air’s human resources strategy.

Her mandate includes driving organizational and functional transformation, enhancing enterprise performance, and nurturing leadership development.

She will ensure a strong focus on employee experience and foster a culture that empowers Akasa’s workforce to thrive.

On her appointment, Sejal Haribhakti Mody, Chief Human Resources Officer, Akasa Air, said, “The Indian aviation industry has witnessed tremendous transformation. I am thrilled to join Akasa Air at such an exciting phase of its journey.

About Sejal Haribhakti Mody

Sejal Haribhakti Mody brings over two decades of experience to her new role. Her impressive career spans diverse industries, including FMCG, media, and consulting.

Prior to joining Akasa Air, Sejal held a leadership position at Hindustan Unilever Ltd. At the company, she served as the HR Head for Supply Chain, Legal, and ESG/Sustainability for South Asia.

Her responsibilities included talent strategy, organization design, workforce planning, and culture development. Sejal’s track record also includes senior roles at Disney Star, McKinsey & Co., and Accenture.
