Amazon appoints Rohit Johar as HR Director, India

An American multinational technology company focusing on e-commerce, Amazon has announced the appointment of Rohit Johar as HR Director for India Business.

Rohit has confirmed the development on social media and said, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as HR Director India at Amazon!”

Rohit is a leader with diverse leadership experience across Human Resources, Digital Transformation, Operations, and M&A Integration driving value for Clients, businesses, and employees. He has over two decades of experience in the HR domain.

Rohit has a proven ability to lead and inspire large global teams with a track record of aligning business & human capital priorities impacting business outcomes. He is a trusted advisor, who can synergize internal and external stakeholders across multiple business units.

Rohit joins Amazon from Genpact where he was Vice President, Global HR leader, Banking & Financial Services. In this role, he was leading talent management for the teams providing services to the largest global Banks focused on being the most transformative partner and providing sustainable delivery at scale.

Additionally, Rohit was leading a team of global leaders across 11 countries spanning ~20K employees, executing HR strategy, enabling growth, seamless delivery, employee engagement, and profitability. He worked with the organization for over 10 years and has led various leadership roles.

Rohit started his career working with the Goodricke Group. His last designation was Head of Human Resources. In this role, he developed frameworks and implemented Talent Management practices across the organization.

Additionally, Rohit enabled the talent management mechanism to start up the retail division to grow to a 750-member organization. He worked with the organization for over 12 years.

Rohit holds his Master of Business Administration, Marketing, and Human Resources from the Faculty of Management Studies, Jabalpur. He completed his Bachelor, of Industrial Relations, Economics & Sociology from St Josephs College Arts Science, Bangalore.
