In a strategic move to strengthen its human resources function, Apple has appointed Priyanka Singh as its Employee Relations Partner- India.
Most recently, prior to joining Apple, Priyanka worked as Director – Employee Relations at UBS, a global firm specializing in financial services.
Roles and Responsibilities at Apple
Priyanka announced her appointment at Apple India on the social media platform LinkedIn. She captioned the update stating: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Employee Relations Partner – India at Apple!”
As an Employee Relations Business Partner (ERBP), Priyanka will play a pivotal role in talent strategy. Her responsibilities include interpreting policies, addressing performance concerns, and managing workplace misconduct allegations.
She will conduct independent and timely investigations into alleged policy breaches and workplace misconduct. This includes interviewing employees, preparing concise investigation reports, and making recommendations to leadership.
Priyanka will contribute to the development of local policies and ensure effective communication and implementation of company-wide programs and procedures.
Identifying and strategizing ways to mitigate labor relations risks will be a critical part of her role. Monitoring the external environment and using metrics to highlight trends will help cultivate positive employee relations.
Priyanka will coordinate and lead responses to government audits and information requests related to labor practices.
New Employee Relations Partner Priyanka Singh: Background and Expertise
Priyanka brings nearly two decades of HR experience to her new role. Prior to UBS, she was associated with companies like Deloitte, Infosys, and Credit Suisse in HR leadership roles.
Her expertise includes performance management, policy interpretation, business conduct issues, and employee terminations. Priyanka’s ability to navigate the intricacies of employee relations makes her a valuable addition to Apple’s team.
This appointment comes at a time when Apple’s headcount in India has doubled over the past five years, reaching 3,000 employees.
The company’s new office in Bengaluru’s central business district reflects its commitment to expanding its operations in the country.
