Cummins India appoints Shveta Arya as Managing Director

Cummins India Limited, a prominent player in power solutions technology, announces the appointment of Shveta Arya as Managing Director.

The company’s Board of Directors has appointed Shveta Arya as an Additional Director and the Managing Director (Designate), effective from August 8, 2024.

Shveta Arya will take up the full-time role as the Managing Director of Cummins India Limited – effective September 1, 2024, subject to approval from shareholders through a postal ballot.

Transition of Leadership at Cummins India

Shveta steps into the shoes of Ashwath Ram, who has led Cummins India Limited with distinction. Under Ram’s guidance, the company achieved remarkable profitability and successfully navigated challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

Welcoming the new leader, Ashwath Ram, Managing Director, Cummins India Limited, said, “I am delighted to welcome Shveta as the next Managing Director of Cummins India Limited.”

Shveta Arya’s Journey

Shveta Arya brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Currently leading the Power System Business for Cummins India Limited, she has been instrumental in driving growth and enhancing market presence.

Her leadership extends beyond India, as she also contributes to Cummins’ global industrial businesses.

Expressing her views on the appointment, Shveta Arya said, “It is both an honor and a privilege for me to lead an organization like Cummins India Limited, which has an illustrious legacy of powering India’s growth for over 60+ years.”

Shveta further said, “Under Ashwath’s leadership, the organization has grown tremendously over the last five years. I am deeply committed to steering the company into its next phase of growth and delivering our brand promise of innovation and dependability.”

CPCB IV+ Range: Setting New Emission Standards at Cummins India

One of Shveta’s notable achievements was spearheading the launch of the CPCB IV+ range of products.

Introduced in July 2023, these gensets adhere to some of the world’s most stringent emission standards for backup power generation.

By combining technological excellence with environmental responsibility, Cummins continues to lead the way in sustainable power solutions.

Before her current role, Shveta Arya led Cummins’ Distribution business in India. During her tenure, she crafted a visionary five-year growth plan that resulted in significant revenue expansion. Her strategic insights and customer-centric approach have been pivotal in shaping Cummins’ success story.

Educational Background and Industry Experience

Shveta holds a master’s degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), and a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology engineering from Delhi University.

With over 20 years of industry and management consulting experience across sectors like Automotive, Travel, Financial Services, and Telecom, she brings a diverse perspective to her leadership role.
