McCann Worldgroup India Welcomes Back Jyoti Mahendru as Chief Talent Officer

McCann Worldgroup India, a leading name in the advertising and marketing industry, has announced the appointment of Jyoti Mahendru as its Chief Talent Officer and National Communication Officer.

This strategic leadership move marks Jyoti’s return to McCann Worldgroup, where she previously served as Executive Vice President – Human Resources from 2018 to 2022.

Jyoti brings over 25 years of experience in human resources to her new role.

Her appointment is anticipated to enhance the company’s talent management capabilities and organizational culture.

Jyoti Mahendru’s return to McCann Worldgroup India is being celebrated as a homecoming.

In her previous tenure, she played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s HR strategies and fostering a people-centric culture.

Strategic Focus in the New Role at McCann Worldgroup India

Jyoti will take charge of talent management and organizational culture in her role as Chief Talent Officer and National Communication Officer.

She will also manage internal communications across McCann Worldgroup India’s network.

Her strategic focus will include:

  • Attracting and retaining top talent.
  • Developing high-performance and agile teams in a rapidly evolving business landscape.
  • Implementing people-centric policies that prioritize employee well-being, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Enhancing internal communication to align with the company’s creative and business objectives.

Jyoti expressed her enthusiasm for the role, stating, “Thrilled to be coming home to McCann Worldgroup India—this time as Chief Talent Officer & National Communications Officer. I look forward to contributing meaningfully and making a real difference.”

Leadership Restructuring at McCann Worldgroup India

Jyoti’s appointment is part of a broader leadership restructuring at McCann Worldgroup India.

The company has also elevated Kamal Basu to the position of Executive Director and Chief Growth Officer.

These strategic changes aim to enhance McCann’s service offerings and ensure dedicated partnerships with clients in an increasingly competitive market.

Prasoon Joshi, Chairman of McCann Asia Pacific and CEO & CCO of McCann Worldgroup India, commented on the restructuring.

He said, “The new structure will enable the company’s best people to provide focused and dedicated partnership to clients.”

Prasoon added, “This will help bring disruptive creativity, agility, and fluidity to the table, which are crucial for transforming clients’ businesses and creating iconic brands.”

Professional Background and Expertise

Jyoti brings a wealth of experience from her illustrious career in human resources.

She is an MBA graduate from the prestigious Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad.

Over the years, she has held leadership roles in various industries, including media, retail, and advertising.

Before rejoining McCann, she served as Chief People Officer at VML India, where she was instrumental in stabilizing teams and integrating people, culture, and structure during a significant merger phase.

Her career also includes notable stints at organizations such as KNAV International, Bharti Wal-Mart, Belden, Modicare, Barista Coffee, and Star TV Network.

Jyoti is known for her expertise in designing end-to-end HR frameworks, culture management, coaching and mentoring, talent engagement, and organizational transformation.
