TCS Appoints Sanjay V. Bhandarkar As Independent Director

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services and consulting, has announced the appointment of Sanjay V. Bhandarkar as an Additional Director and Non-Executive Independent Director.

This decision, effective from March 4, 2025, marks a significant step in strengthening the company’s governance and strategic direction.

The appointment is for a five-year term, concluding on March 3, 2030, and is subject to shareholder approval.

Current Roles, Responsibilities & Strategic Implications for TCS

Sanjay currently serves as an independent non-executive director on the boards of several prominent companies, including Tata Power Company Limited, HDFC Asset Management Company Limited, and Chemplast Sanmar Limited.

He is also associated with Tata Projects Limited and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited as a shareholder nominee.

Additionally, he contributes to investment committees and advisory boards, such as the South Asia Growth Fund II and III and 1Crowd, a seed capital stage investing platform.

Sanjay’s appointment aligns with TCS’s vision to enhance its financial strategy and governance.

His extensive experience in navigating complex business environments and his strategic foresight are expected to add significant value to the company’s board.

Sanjay V. Bhandarkar brings over three decades of experience in corporate finance, advisory services, and investment banking.

His illustrious career includes leadership roles at prestigious organizations such as Rothschild India and ICICI.

Notably, he was instrumental in establishing Rothschild India as a respected advisory investment banking firm.

His expertise spans mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and equity capital markets.

Several landmark achievements mark Sanjay’s career.

He has advised the Government of India on critical projects, including the first-ever e-auctions for 3G and BWA spectrum.

Sanjay also played a crucial role in restructuring the Dabhol power project, showcasing his ability to tackle high-stakes financial challenges.

He has made significant contributions to the financial advisory landscape in India. These achievements have established his reputation as a thought leader in the industry.
