Times Group Broadcast Company Limited (TGBCL), a prominent player in the Indian media landscape, has announced a significant leadership transition in its Human Resources division.
Ruchira Srivastava has been appointed as the new Head of Human Resources, succeeding S Srivathsan, who will transition to a corporate role within the Times Group.
S Srivathsan, a respected figure in the broadcast HR community, has been an integral part of TGBCL’s leadership team for several years.
Known for his steadfast service and pivotal role in shaping TGBCL into a leading broadcast entity, Srivathsan will work closely with Ruchira Srivastava during the transition period.
This mentorship aims to ensure a seamless handover of responsibilities, reflecting the company’s dedication to continuity and excellence in leadership.
Responsibilities and Reporting Structure at TGBCL
In her new role, Ruchira will oversee HR strategies across TGBCL’s diverse verticals, including News Television, Entertainment, Digital, and Conferences.
She will report to Varun Kohli for matters related to the News Television vertical and to Rohit Gopakumar for Entertainment, Digital, and Conferences.
The HR team previously led by Srivathsan will now report to her, ensuring a cohesive and streamlined approach to HR management.
Ruchira’s appointment signals a renewed focus on leadership development, culture building, and strategic HR alignment at TGBCL.

Ruchira Srivastava brings over two decades of extensive experience in Human Resources, spanning multiple industries, including media, pharmaceuticals, and IT.
Before joining TGBCL, she served as the Chief Human Resource Officer at Zee Media Corporation and other Essel Group companies.
Her career is marked by transformative HR initiatives that have supported both organic and inorganic growth for business units.
An alumna of IMT Ghaziabad, Ruchira has further honed her leadership capabilities through executive programs at the Wharton School and Cornell University.
Known for her people-first approach and strategic foresight, she has received industry accolades for her excellence in HR.
