Earlier, in the month of February, the company had announced its plan to hire about 30,000 employees in India in 2021. That is 25% higher than last year, in 2020 the company hired about 24,000 people in India.

Accenture veteran Jim Bailey named Americas CEO of Capgemini

Jim Bailey, a former senior managing director at Accenture, has been named CEO of the Americas strategic business unit at IT consultancy Capgemini. The Atlanta-based professional will also become a member of the firm’s group executive board.

As head of the Americas region, Bailey will be tasked with growing Capgemini’s business in the region while maintaining its position as a leading advisor to C-suite executives in North America and Latin America. He will report to Oliver Sevillia, global COO at Capgemini.

Bailey joins Capgemini after spending 30 years at rival Accenture, where he was a senior managing director as well as a founding member of the Accenture Digital leadership team and a member of the global leadership council. He oversaw the consulting firm’s global mobility and internet of things practices and managed relationships with Apple, Google, Microsoft, and others.

Prior to that, he held numerous leadership roles at the global, national, and regional level. He has deep experience leading client accounts and engagement across strategy, management consulting, technology, application services, and business process outsourcing in a variety of industries.

Bailey holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University.

France-based Cagemini provides services and solutions in technology, consulting, and outsourcing to clients across the globe, with 270,000 people across nearly 50 countries. The Americas business unit has offices in the US, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Guatemala.

The firm’s North America region accounts for 32% of Capgemini’s revenues, according to the firm’s 2019 annual report, while the Asia-Pacific and Latin America region together constitute 8% of global revenue. The firm registered $19.34 billion in revenue in 2020.
