Flipkart appoints Prashant Jhaveri as CEO of healthcare business
Flipkart has launched its healthcare business in November 2021 and acquired SastaSundar in the same month for an undisclosed sum.

Flipkart Health+ on March 15 has announced the appointment of Prashant Jhaveri as its chief executive officer (CEO). He is expected to lead Flipkart’s foray into the fast-growing healthcare sector in India.

Flipkart has launched its healthcare business in November 2021 and acquired SastaSundar in the same month for an undisclosed sum.

The company has estimated and spent $400-500 million on mergers and acquisitions (M&As) in the past 12-18 months. Ever since pandemic 2019, it has triggered the consolidation of the Indian healthcare industry and seen the entry of Reliance (Netmeds) and Tata (1mg).

The launch of Flipkart Health+ will be focusing to create an end-to-end digital healthcare platform. It will address the issues across the country at affordable and quality healthcare.

Before joining Flipkart Health+, Prashant was working as Chief Business Officer at Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited, where he was responsible for growth, partnerships, and creating cross-functional synergies across different consumer-facing businesses and touchpoints.

Earlier, he served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Business Officer at MediBuddy, and previously, he also worked with Medi Assist Group and Reliance Health Ventures.

He holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Penn State University.
