
ACC and Ambuja Cement, now part of the Adani Group of companies appoints Jayant Kumar as the new CHRO, effective 1 October 2022.
Jayant Kumar’s most recent role was as Jt President – HR at Adani Ports and SEZ, and earlier he was associated with TATA Power as Chief Human Resources Officer.
He started his career with Hindalco in 1994 and has since worked with Marico Ltd., Tata Teleservices Ltd, Reliance Communications, North Delhi Power Limited, and NTPC Ltd.
Jayant Kumar is an MA (Eco.), PGDM from XISS, Ranchi, and also holds a Ph.D. in Talent Management from Patna University. He also completed his LLB degree recently from Mumbai University.
The Adani group has completed the acquisition of Ambuja Cements Ltd and ACC Ltd. The transaction involved the acquisition of Holcim’s stake in Ambuja and ACC along with an open offer in both entities as per SEBI Regulations.
The value of the Holcim stake and open offer consideration for Ambuja Cements and ACC is USD 6.50 billion, which makes this the largest ever acquisition by Adani, and also India’s largest ever M&A transaction in the infrastructure and materials space.
Post the transaction, Adani will hold 63.15% in Ambuja Cements and 56.69% in ACC (of which 50.05% is held through Ambuja Cements).
