Bharti Airtel’s Chief People Officer for India, South Asia, Gautam Anand has resigned with immediate effect, a little over a year after he was elevated to the role.
“Airtel spokesperson confirmed the exit and said that Anand was leaving due to personal reasons. Till the time company appoints a successor, HR functions will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Gopal Vittal“
Gautam had been with the Bharti Airtel since 2009, he was promoted as Chief People Officer in July 2018 and he was heading human resources for India and South Asia consumer business. Earlier to that he was working as Executive Vice President, Head HR for India and South Asia, digital TV business.
Gautam is Commerce Graduate from SRCC, Delhi, and earned MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, USA. He joined Airtel in 2009 as Global Head Total Rewards and worked on various HR functions. Previously he also worked in the USA for 10 years with PwC, Heinz and Citi Cards.
