Kotak Mahindra Bank elevates Chetan Savla as CHRO

One of India’s leading financial services conglomerates, Kotak Mahindra Bank has announced the elevation of Chetan Savla to the position of Chief Human Resources Officer and Head of Sustainability.

Most recently, Chetan Savla was working as President – of Financial Inclusion and ESG. This is his first formal role in human resources.

Shanti Ekambaram, whole-time director at Kotak Mahindra Bank, said “At Kotak, we believe that talent management combined with sustainability will form a key pillar alongside technology and customer Experience, for building a future-ready organization.”

In April 2021, Chetan took charge of the functions of Priority Sector Lending, ESG, CSR, and Financial Inclusion under the common umbrella of Sustainability.

Chetan has over 31 years of experience, including over 28 years with the Kotak group. He has worked in multiple business segments for Kotak, including investment banking and wholesale banking, as well as leading the group’s strategy division.

Chetan Savla is a postgraduate from IIM Ahmedabad.

The Bank has four Strategic Business Units – Consumer Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, and Treasury, which cater to retail and corporate customers across urban and rural India. The premise of Kotak Mahindra Group’s business model is concentrated on India and provides diversified financial services.

As on 30th September 2022, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd has a national footprint of 1,710 branches and 2,802 ATMs, and branches in GIFT City and DIFC (Dubai).
