Infosys, one of India’s leading IT services providers, has announced plans to issue salary increment letters by the end of February 2025.
The company has revealed that the average salary hikes will range between 5% to 8%, effective from April 2025.
This decision comes as Infosys anticipates a rise in technology budgets and an overall improvement in the demand environment.
Infosys Salary Hike Details
Infosys’ Chief Financial Officer, Jayesh Sanghrajka, stated that the expected annual salary increment in India will be 6-8%.
Overseas increments will align with previous compensation reviews.
The company has also started issuing promotion letters in batches. The first round was sent out in December 2024, with another scheduled for the end of February.
This move is seen as a strategic response to the anticipated increase in technology budgets for the coming fiscal year.
The decision to roll out salary hikes comes after a period of delayed increments due to broader uncertainties in the global demand environment.
Infosys had postponed its annual salary hikes to the fourth quarter of the current financial year due to these uncertainties.
However, the company has seen a turnaround in recent fiscal quarters, with a revival in growth driven by strong holiday season sales and improving consumer sentiment.
Impact on Employees and Recent Developments
The salary hikes will affect over 3.23 lakh professionals employed by Infosys.
High performers are expected to receive significantly higher raises, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding top talent.
This move is expected to boost employee morale and help retain talent in a competitive job market.
Despite the positive news of salary hikes, Infosys has faced backlash. The criticism stems from the recent layoffs of nearly 700 freshers from its Mysuru campus.
The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has filed a complaint against Infosys, describing the layoffs as “illegal and unethical”.
The union alleged that “bouncers and security personnel” were deployed during the termination process, drawing significant criticism.
