ACC, Ambuja to support employees with COVID-19 vaccination
“The risk of the pandemic is still significant. We are ensuring precautions in all our activities from manufacturing to logistics and sales. It’s sad that despite every effort by our Governments and medical professionals, another wave of the pandemic is hitting us,” said Neeraj Akhoury, CEO India, LafargeHolcim, and MD, Ambuja.
Neeraj added, “ACC and Ambuja both companies are now preparing to vaccinate our employees and their families. We have asked our employees to exercise extreme caution, especially for their parents and families. We are also reaching out to our partners – suppliers and customers to take Covid-19 very seriously.”
“As an essential service, our employees and partners have shown strong resilience and made us proud each day. We were swift to respond to the pandemic last year by putting our Health, Cost & Cash plan with urgency,” he added.
“Through a set of coordinated actions, we established Business Resilience Teams (BRT) in both our operating companies in India-ACC and Ambuja Cement,” he said in the statement.
“The BRT protected employee health in the workplace and kept our sites fully safe. Homeworking, safe practices, online learning and development initiatives, mental health support, and other initiatives were rolled out in both the companies,” he said.
