Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PM Internship) has extended the application deadline to April 15, 2025, allowing more young individuals to apply for valuable internship opportunities.
The selection process for some roles began on April 1, and applicants are advised to regularly check their mobile phones, emails, and dashboard on the official website for updates.
About the PM Internship Scheme
The PMIS was announced by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her Budget speech on July 23, 2024, and was officially launched on October 3, 2024.
The internship duration is 12 months, with a minimum of 50% time dedicated to hands-on work. It aims to enhance the employability of India’s youth through practical exposure to real-world business settings.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the PMIS, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Age: Between 21 to 24 years
- Education: Minimum qualification of Class 10; applicants from IITs, IIMs, and those holding CA or CMA degrees are not eligible
- Employment Status: Must not be engaged in full-time employment
- Income Limit: Annual family income must not exceed Rs 8 lakh
- Exclusion: Applicants with family members in government jobs are not eligible
- Open to: Candidates trained in ITIs and Kaushal Kendras (Skill Centres)
Benefits of the Scheme
- A monthly stipend of Rs 5,000
- A one-time financial aid of Rs 6,000
- Insurance coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana
- Additional accidental insurance may be provided by participating companies

- Fill in your details and upload the required documents
- Submit the form (Note: No application fee is charged)
Upon registration, a resume will be auto-generated, enabling each candidate to apply for up to five internships based on their preferences.
