DNEG, the British-Indian visual effects and animation powerhouse, has set its sights on India for significant expansion. The company plans to hire 300 new employees in its animation unit, aiming to establish India as a major animation hub.

With existing production facilities in Chennai, Bangalore, and Mumbai, DNEG is poised to make a substantial impact on the Indian animation industry.

Expansion Vision and Facilities Across India

DNEG’s decision to expand its operations in India reflects the country’s growing prominence in the global animation landscape.

The company’s goal is clear: to tap into India’s immense talent pool and create a robust ecosystem for animation production.

By strategically positioning itself in key Indian cities, DNEG aims to enhance its creative capabilities and deliver world-class content.

DNEG’s animation unit will be bolstered by the addition of 300 skilled professionals. The company has already established production facilities in Chennai, Bangalore, and Mumbai.

These cities, known for their vibrant creative communities, will serve as hubs for DNEG’s ambitious projects.

The company’s commitment to India extends beyond mere expansion—it’s about fostering innovation and nurturing local talent.

DNEG Animation: A Decade of Excellence

DNEG Animation, the animation arm of the company, celebrates its 10th anniversary. Over the past decade, it has contributed to several remarkable animated projects.

Notable works include “That Christmas,” “Entergalactic,” “Nimona,” and “The Cat in the Hat.” The animation team’s expertise and dedication have been pivotal in shaping DNEG’s success story.

Acquired by Prime Focus in 2014, the company has consistently delivered outstanding visual effects. Films like “Oppenheimer,” “Dune,” and “The Rings of Power” have garnered critical acclaim and accolades.

India’s Role in DNEG Global Workforce

Crosby Clyse, Managing Director of DNEG Animation, emphasizes India’s significance: “Our main hubs are London, Montreal, and Mumbai, along with Chennai and Bangalore.”

India’s rich talent pool and creative energy make it an indispensable component of DNEG’s global operations.

The company’s legacy, formerly known as Double Negative, includes award-winning visual effects for iconic films like “Inception,” “Interstellar,” and “The Lord of the Rings” series.
