Apple Inc., the U.S.-based tech giant, is gearing up for a significant retail expansion in India.
The company aims to open four new retail stores across key cities, including Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai.
This move comes after the successful launch of its existing stores in Mumbai and Delhi last year.
Hiring Spree
Apple plans to recruit up to 400 people for these upcoming outlets.
The job postings are already live on Apple’s website, and they cover a range of positions, both full-time and part-time.
These opportunities are not only for seasoned professionals but also fresh graduates seeking experience in working with a large corporation.
Part-time roles allow graduates to gain valuable insights while contributing to Apple’s retail ecosystem.
Apple’s retail stores focus on providing an immersive customer experience. The team, which includes expatriate employees, speaks over 20 languages.
These stores go beyond mere sales—they showcase Apple products, highlight features, and delve into use cases, creating an engaging environment for visitors.
The success of this approach has been evident despite India’s extensive network of premium reseller channels and multi-brand outlets.
Apple India Success Story
The two existing Apple stores—located in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai and Select City Walk in Delhi—have been nothing short of a retail triumph.
In their first year of operations, these stores collectively raked in approximately Rs 800 crore in revenues, making them the company’s top-performing retail outlets globally.
Interestingly, around 60% of sales came from the smaller Delhi store, demonstrating the strong demand for Apple products in India.
In addition to expanding its retail footprint, Apple has also begun manufacturing the iPhone 16 Pro models domestically in India.
This move aligns with the company’s commitment to deepening its presence in the world’s second-largest smartphone market.
By producing iPhones locally, Apple aims to enhance supply chain efficiency and cater to the growing demand for its flagship devices.
