EPAM Systems: Strategic Expansion and Emerging Roles
EPAM Systems aims to reach 10,000 employees in India by March 2025, making India its second-largest global delivery center.
The latest addition to EPAM’s network in India is a new office in Baner, Pune.
This marks the company’s third expansion in India this year, following Bengaluru and Chennai.
The Pune office will act as an Offshore Development Centre (ODC) and innovation hub for EPAM’s clients, leveraging Pune’s strong educational ecosystem and skilled talent pool.
EPAM’s hiring drive is focused on emerging roles, including prompt engineers, AI ambassadors, and AI consultants.
These roles are crucial for supporting EPAM’s wide array of transformation projects in artificial intelligence, analytics, and cloud computing.
They also play an essential part in digital engineering.
The company is heavily investing in AI training and upskilling programs. These initiatives aim to ensure the workforce is equipped with the latest skills and knowledge.
Leadership and Vision
EPAM’s client roster in India is diverse and extensive, with over 200 companies served out of the country.
The company’s Indian operations are heavily focused on product and platform engineering, cloud data, and open-source technologies.
EPAM has established offices in major tech hubs, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, and Gurugam.
Srinivas Reddy, Managing Director of EPAM India, revealed in an interview that the company plans to onboard around 500 new hires.
This hiring will take place in the second half of the current fiscal year.
This aggressive recruitment drive is part of a broader vision to scale up from the current 8,000 employees.
The goal is to potentially reach 15,000 and even 20,000 employees in the next few years.
Srinivas emphasized the rigorous selection process for new hires.
This includes clearing two coding challenges to ensure strong foundational skills in computer science concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
