McDonald’s announces 5000 new hires in India

The world’s leading global foodservice retailer, McDonald’s India (North and East) has announced plans to double the number of its outlets over the next three years.

McDonald’s is looking for an expansion phase and is planning to hire around 5,000 people. The company has launched its largest restaurant in India in Guwahati. The restaurant is spread over 6,700 square feet and can seat 220 people at a time.

A top company official said the food service retailer plans to double its restaurant count to 300 in the northern and eastern regions in the next three years. The company has yet to officially post these job openings.

However, interested candidates can check on the career section of the company’s official website, mcdonaldsindia.com, for updates.

Speaking to PTI, McDonald’s India (North and East) Managing Director Rajeev Ranjan said the company is growing fast and is looking to expand its network across states.

Rajeev Ranjan responded, “Currently, we are employing more than 5,000 people. We will continue to hire people as we grow. In three years, the workforce will double.”

“When asked if the legal concerns with the former McDonald’s partner had been resolved, he responded.

“All challenges and problems are behind us and we are focused on building our business”, Rajeev Ranjan added.

McDonald’s has over 37,000 locations in over 100 countries. More than 90% of the restaurants worldwide are owned and operated by independent local businessmen and women. McDonald’s & the franchisees employ 1.9 million people worldwide.
