Cognizant, a global leader in technology and professional services, has announced its ambitious plan to establish a 14-acre immersive AI learning center at its Siruseri campus in Chennai, India.
This state-of-the-art facility is designed to train 100,000 individuals annually in advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, marking a significant step in the company’s commitment to talent development and workplace transformation.
Key Features of Cognizant Learning Center
The proposed learning center will be located within Cognizant’s sprawling 50-acre Siruseri campus and is expected to be completed within three years. The facility will feature:
- 14,000 Seats: Accommodating large-scale training sessions.
- Smart Classrooms: Equipped with cutting-edge technology to enhance learning experiences.
- Incubator Hubs: Spaces dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Client Experience Spaces: Areas designed to showcase Cognizant’s technological capabilities.
- Design Thinking Centers: Facilities to encourage creative problem-solving.
- Residential Accommodations and Well-being Facilities: Ensuring a holistic learning environment.
The center will also serve as the primary training hub for Cognizant’s school graduate program in India, hosting intensive boot camps for fresh graduates.
Additionally, it will act as a collaborative space for technology partners, academia, clients, and communities to engage in innovative research and learning programs.
The Siruseri learning center is part of a broader hub-and-spoke model.
It will act as a support hub for other learning centers. These centers are being developed in phases across Cognizant’s campuses in Hyderabad, Pune, Kochi, and Coimbatore.
This integrated approach builds a strong learning and development ecosystem.
It enhances Cognizant’s expertise in AI-skilling, executive leadership, and consulting programs.
Strategic Importance and Focus on Generative AI (GenAI)
Cognizant’s CEO, Ravi Kumar S, emphasized the strategic importance of this initiative, stating, “The capabilities to excel in an AI-driven world will differentiate the leaders from the followers.”
The learning center aligns with Cognizant’s vision to empower its workforce with the skills needed to drive business impact globally.
Since 2024, Cognizant has been expanding its infrastructure footprint in India.
The company has set up new delivery centers in Bhubaneswar and Indore and upgraded its facilities in Hyderabad and Kolkata.
Additionally, it plans to establish a tech-fin center in GIFT City, Gujarat.
Cognizant has sharpened its focus on generative AI skills.
In 2024 alone, the company empowered 277,000 associates through its learning ecosystem, with 168,000 completing a GenAI course.
Cognizant has upskilled 220,000 associates in GenAI to date. This highlights Cognizant’s commitment to maintaining a lead in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
