Tweet has received various reactions, one Twitter user said, “I’m struggling with rebranding Twitter to X and losing the little blue bird’s brand equity. Today everything works together – we tweet or re-tweet on Twitter and the bluebird reinforces that Twitter is the best platform to announce big events. Not sure what the verb will be to tweet (does one “X” it?) or what tweets will be now be called. Either way, advertisers who dislike change may wait to see how the branding change impacts advertising efficacy.”
“He’s scaling new heights of dumb. “Let’s take Campbell’s Soup, a valuable and well-known brand, and call it ‘Blargle.’ And we’ll call the soup ‘Fleen.’ See it? Blargle Fleen!” This is yet more of Musk’s astonishment that no one will just follow his orders and give him money”, another user said.
“it’s basic advertising 101 to keep iconic branding that has nearly 2 decades of cultural recognition just add all this new shit and keep the Twitter name, if it REALLY needs to be different append a “2.0” to it but this is X business is Christopher Moltisanti levels of stupid”, another user said.
Twitter was founded in 2006. The company has been undergoing several changes since Elon Musk’s takeover. Earlier, Twitter’s appointed new CEO Linda Yaccarino with an extensive background in advertising sent her first email to employees sharing the detailed vision of building ‘Twitter 2.0’.
