Freshers at Mphasis left stranded as offer letters are about to expire

Due to economic uncertainty, the companies have delayed the onboarding of employees, now an Indian Information technology services and consulting company, Mphasis fresher’s offer letter will expire soon due to delay in onboarding.

The business today reviewed the offer letters. The company provided offer letters to freshers for the position of Trainee Associate Software in September 2021. And these job offers will expire in March 2023. Also, for Associate Software Engineer, offers made in late 2021 will expire in April 2023.

A Twitter user wrote, “On Oct 2021 I received LOI from @Mphasis at that time I felt happy I’m also MNC company employee like that but never thought that same company will make this type of situation for us, it’s so hard thing please on-board us at least now #mphasis#mphasis_onboardus_2022 @nitinrakesh.”

Earlier, It was also reported that the IT majors Amazon, Accenture, Mindtree, Wipro, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra have delayed the onboarding of employees.

Additionally, earlier, Harpreet Singh Saluja, President of NITES, an IT employees association, nearly 30,000 IT professionals have been impacted by the delay in onboarding at top IT firms like Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, and others.

“The ballpark figure could be around 30,000 professionals because it is an ongoing process. Throughout the year, campus placements are conducted by these IT companies”, said Harpreet Singh Saluja.

He further added, “We are in touch with thousands of students, this figure can cross 30,000 also.”

Other Fresher Movements

Recently, Wipro has reduced the employee’s salary by 50 percent from Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh per annum. The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has filed a complaint against Wipro in the Labour Ministry.

Additionally, the company also sacked 452 fresher employees due to poor performance. The union of IT employees NITES said that it ‘strongly condemns the unethical layoffs done by Wipro.’

Infosys has fired 600 freshers after they fail an internal assessment test. The company hired around 6,000 freshers in Q3FY23. Additionally, IT companies have laid off thousands of employees due to a slowdown in the industry.
