Google is set to appoint a manufacturing and policy veteran as its top government affairs executive in India to tackle legal challenges and expand hardware assembly to the country.
Google’s previous India policy head, Archana Gulati, left the company last year. Sreenivasa Reddy, currently a senior engineering executive at Microsoft Corp., is likely to join Google toward the end of this year,
He previously worked in senior positions at Apple Inc.’s India regulatory team and headed government relations at the local unit of Ericsson AB.
As of July 1, 2023, The company has a set new privacy policy in place for users. The update, highlighted by Gizmodo, is documented on Google’s policy site and has a key change.
The new policy states, “Google uses the information to improve our services and to develop new products, features, and technologies that benefit our users and the public.”
“For example, we use publicly available information to help train Google’s AI models and build products and features like Google Translate, Bard, and Cloud AI capabilities.” The new policy was added.
Recently, A suite of cloud computing services offered by Google, Google Cloud has announced the introduction of free AI courses to boost the skills in AI. The course is free of cost.
