Revolut launched its D&I framework in 2021 in an endeavor to accelerate progress on this subject. This has been announced to recognize women’s talent and ensure better diversity in the workforce.

The scholarship is launching in India as a “key growth market” before rolling out in others, such as Mexico and Brazil.
It will be awarded to the best girl students.

The institute includes the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Lucknow, as well as top girl students from XLRI, Jamshedpur, and the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.

The Revolut Ira Scholarship incorporates an award of Rs 5 lakhs each. The global financial super app will soon make the scholarship available globally, so that bright girl students can be identified and rewarded early on.

Revolut said in a press release, “The scholarship aims to ensure that bright female students are identified and rewarded early on so that they can focus on their studies and maximise their potential as they work to become future female leaders within the fintech sector.”

It added, “Revolut strives to ensure women are provided with fair and equitable opportunities”.

Paroma Chatterjee, CEO of Revolut India, said “a step towards my dream of bringing about a workplace evolution, where I envision an equal number of brilliant men and women occupying the seats in a boardroom”.

“I am delighted we had an equal gender split last quarter despite a rather “gruelling recruitment process”, Paroma Chatterjee added.

Paroma is encouraging this approach in the hiring the company is doing for Revolut in India. This will also help in the potential hiring of more women is a good start especially when the scholarship is expanded to other markets. The company views itself as a diverse or equal fintech.
