TCS becomes the most valuable brand in India in 2022 

According to the Kantar BrandZ India rankings, India’s largest IT services provider, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is the Most Valuable Indian Brand in 2022.

The world’s leading marketing data and analytics company, Kantar ranks the best brands in the world. Kantar has released the Kantar BrandZ Top 75 Most Valuable Indian Brands 2022 report that values the TCS brand as worth $45,519 mn, putting the Company at the top.

However, HDFC Bank and Infosys grabbed the second and third spots in the Top 75 Most Valuable Indian brands rankings.

TCS rose two places up the ranking to attain the #1 position that was held by HDFC Bank since the Kantar BrandZ India ranking was launched in 2014. The company brand value rose 212% in 2022 from 2020.

Other companies to be ranked among the top ten in terms of brand values included Airtel, Asian Paints, State Bank of India, LIC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, and Reliance Jio.

TCS leads a stellar performance by Business Solutions and Technology Providers, which now account for six brands in the Top 75 and provide 24% of the ranking’s total value.

These brands are playing a growing role in India’s economy, catering to domestic needs as well as those of global customers, says the Kantar report

In Kantar BrandZ 2022 Most Valuable Global Brands ranking TCS has emerged as the top Indian brand (at #46 Vs #58 in 2021). At the Asia Pacific level, TCS ranks at #2 (behind Samsung).

Deepender Rana, Executive Managing Director-South Asia, Insights Division, Kantar said, “India’s leading brands have grown at an exceptional rate, despite global economic headwinds, putting the disruption from Covid-19 behind them. Indeed, they have both driven and benefited from the transformation in consumer and business behaviour as a result of Covid-19, especially where it relates to the use of technology.”

“The challenge now is to sustain momentum as inflation bites worldwide and consumers and businesses adjust to the new normal”, Deepender Rana added.

According to the reports, Consumer tech brands in the top 75 rankings in terms of brand values included Flipkart, Bjyu’s, Swiggy, Nykaa and Zomato reflecting the rapid adoption of online channel by Indian consumers.
