One of the largest IT services companies globally, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is expanding into France.
TCS is aiming to double staff in France over the next three years to serve its clients better and tap into new markets. The company sees handsome business growth in the European country, a senior official said last month.
At present, the largest Indian IT services company employs 1,600 people in France across four major centres in the country.
France is among the fastest growing markets in Europe for TCS, growing much faster than the numbers it reports for the continent, its head of European business, Sapthagiri Chapalapalli, told PTI.
Commenting on hiring in India, during Q3FY24 Results, Milind Lakkad, CHRO, TCS said, “Hiring will be on the lower side, but that doesn’t mean that we are going to stop hiring trainees or we are going to stop honouring offers.”
“We will continue to hire trainees, the current number (freshers’ hiring target for FY24) stands at 40,000,” he added.
Milind Lakkad further added, “We also doubled down on organic talent development, obtaining over 53K cloud certifications during the year, bringing the total to over 110K employees certified on hyper scaler platforms. This places us among the top 2 partners for the largest cloud providers.”
The company has now started onboarding some of the lateral hires whose onboarding was earlier delayed for 3 months., He further added.
TCS typically conducts recruitment drives throughout the year to meet its workforce requirements. These recruitment efforts target fresh graduates, experienced professionals, and specialists in areas such as software development, consulting, data analytics, cybersecurity, and more.

However, TCS headcount dropped by 5,680 employees workforce stood at 603,305 as of December 31 with attrition at 13.3% for the last twelve months. The company’s workforce stood at 608,985 as of September 30, reported a dip of 6333 employees from the last quarter.
