In a significant move to enhance digital competencies among India’s engineering students, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has partnered with Cisco to introduce the Virtual Internship Program 2025.
This initiative aims to provide hands-on experience in Networking and cybersecurity to students across the nation.
Program Overview
The two-month virtual internship is designed for students enrolled in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years of engineering or technical degree and diploma programs from institutions affiliated with the Cisco Networking Academy (NetAcad).
The program commenced on April 15, 2025, and applications are open until June 16, 2025.
Key Features
- Eligibility: Open to students from NetAcad-affiliated institutions. Final-year students are not eligible.
- Registration: Interested candidates must register on the AICTE internship portal and coordinate with their NetAcad instructors to access the necessary courses on netacad.com.
- Course Completion: Participants are required to complete designated courses and obtain digital badges as proof of completion.
- Industry Interaction: Selected students will attend industry sessions hosted by Cisco and work on assigned problem statements under the guidance of their instructors.
- Assessment and Certification: Upon project completion, students must pass a final quiz. Successful candidates will receive a virtual internship certificate.
Application Process
This is the virtual internship program, and is NOT to be confused with Cisco India’s Standard Internship Program (managed through Cisco’s career page). Students can apply through the AICTE National Internship Portal.
