TCS Expands Hiring for Lateral Positions: Get the Latest Details

Recently in July 2024, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced its Q1FY25 results, reflecting a strong performance. The company reported a 9% year-on-year increase in net profit, amounting to Rs 12,040 crore. Revenue from operations also saw a rise, increasing by 5.4% to Rs 62,613 crore.

TCS’s order book saw significant additions, driven by new contracts. Headcount reached 606,998, with a notable increase of 5,452 employees during the first quarter.

Milind Lakkad, Chief Human Resources Officer, highlighted plans to hire an additional 40,000 freshers and lateral roles in FY25 to support expanding business needs and strategic growth initiatives.

On Lateral hiring, Milind said, “In FY25, IT job hiring in India is set to increase due to expanding deal pipelines and cost considerations.”

Lateral Jobs at TCS

The company is currently hiring for nearly 1,000 lateral jobs for a range of IT roles, including software development, data science, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and IT project management.

Positions are available at various levels, from entry-level to senior roles, across multiple departments and various locations in India, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune etc.

Recently, TCS partnered with BSNL in a ₹15,000 crore 4G deal to enhance high-speed internet services across India. This strategic partnership is set to revolutionize mobile internet speeds in India and pave the way for future 5G advancements.

TCS and BSNL aim to bring high-speed 4G connectivity to over 1,000 villages, significantly boosting mobile internet quality in rural India.
