
These corporates to bear COVID-19 vaccine cost for staff and families
Covaxin and Oxford-AstraZeneca”s Covishield are the two vaccines that are being administered in the country. Covaxin has been indigenously developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16 with inoculation of healthcare workers (HCWs), while for frontline workers (FLWs) it started on February 2.
As India’s vaccination drive enters the third phase from March 1, big corporate houses, and multinational companies some of them mentioned below have drawn up plans to bear the cost of Covid-19 vaccinations for thousands of employees and their dependents.
Accenture will cover the cost of coronavirus vaccines for all its employees in India. As many as 200,000 employees in the country and their dependents are enrolled in the company’s medical benefits program.
TCS, the biggest IT-leader in India may cover Covid-19 vaccination costs for their employees and their family members, who are eligible and choose to receive the vaccination.
Infosys has announced that it will cover the cost of the Covid-19 vaccine for its employees and their immediate family members. The company is currently looking for a partner to collaborate with for this mass immunization plan.
Mindtree will be facilitating Covid-19 vaccination for all its India employees as well as their immediate family members, as per Government guidelines. Similarly, all Mindtree Minds based outside India but having family members in the country will be able to avail the facility. The entire cost of the immunization drive will be borne by the company.
Capgemini India will cover the cost of the COVID-19 vaccination for all eligible employees and their dependents in strict accordance with all government-approved protocols.
TVS Motor has announced decision to provide Covid-19 vaccines to around 35,000 employees and their immediate family members in the coming months as per government directives.
Amway India to cover the cost of the COVID-19 vaccine. The company has launched a new policy wherein it will be sponsoring the vaccination for its employees and their families.
ReNew Power Clean energy firm ReNew Power has decided to provide Covid-19 vaccination free of cost to its 1,500 employees as well as their families.

RPG Group has said that it was working out modalities to administer the vaccine to its nearly 25,000 employees. S Venkatesh, group president- HR of the group, said: “At present, we are awaiting policy clarity on vaccine allocation to private sector employees.”
Mahindra Group has registered interest to seek COVID-19 vaccines for its employees, as per priorities and sequence to be specified by the government.
ITC, a consumer goods major has also announced that it will bear the cost of employee vaccination. The company was considering buying vaccines for their employees as early as January.
