Xiaomi India rewarding employees with hardship bonus

Xiaomi India is rewarding half-a-month hardship bonus for all its employees, as a token of thanks for his or her work in the course of the pandemic.

Manu Jain, Managing Director of the company said, “this allowance will be in addition to the salary hike and bonus paid out to employees during appraisals,”

He further said, “due to the surge in domestic demand after COVID-19 lockdown in India, Xiaomi has also planned to put its export plans on hold, we want to first ensure that we meet local demand.”

The company currently has 60,000 direct as well as indirect employees and the company is planning to offer free Covid-19 vaccination for all employees and their households, he added.

Manu also said,”our hikes this year will be higher than the industry average for our sector.”

“We will continue to hire people as we grow our businesses,” he said, including that professionals from numerous backgrounds have been inspired on the firm.

Xiaomi had the highest market share at 27 per cent in the Indian smartphone market in Q3FY20, according to CMR India. Besides smartphones, Xiaomi sells air purifiers, fitness bands, VR headsets, and power banks in the nation.
