US-based autonomous vehicle technology startup, Argo AI layoffs about 150 employees as it makes adjustments to its business plans.
The layoffs will be 5% of the Workforce. The company still has a global workforce of more than 2,000 employees.
The company, backed by Ford Motor Co and Volkswagen AG, said “with incredible growth and progress made in our mission to deploy driverless vehicles, we are making prudent adjustments to our business plan to best continue on a path for success.”
Gary Lantz, Jr., Technical Sourcer, Argo AI shared a Linkedin saying, ” Hello Linkedin! Unfortunately, I got the news earlier today that I’d be a part of the Argo Ai layoffs.”
“In my short time with Argo, I met a lot of great people and quickly believed in the mission of the product. Moving on is both exciting and stressful but I’m ready to see what the future holds! Long story short, I am currently #OpenForWork!”, he added.
The layoffs will be across the department of talent recruiters, operations teams, digital media, and communications employees. Argo AI, the autonomous vehicle technology startup backed by Ford and Volkswagen.
The company is based in Pittsburgh, and launched driverless testing operations in May 2022 in Miami and Austin, marking the company’s progress towards commercializing its technology.
