In a filing as of February 2, 2024, Dell had approximately 120,000 employees. As per reports of India today the company had 1,26,000 employees.
The company said throughout Fiscal 2024, it has continued to take certain measures to reduce costs, including limiting external hiring, employee reorganizations, and other actions to align the investments with the announced strategic and customer priorities.
These actions resulted in reduction of overall headcount. Despite these difficult decisions, the company continued to focus on efforts to empower the employees and attract, develop, and retain talent.
The company continued to focus on minimizing operating expenses through cost improvements and simplification of the corporate structure.
Dell’s cost-saving measures, reorganizations, and divestitures have resulted in workforce reductions and consolidation of facilities. These actions could also impact employee retention.
Recently, Dell Technologies updated its Return to Office policy and mandates three days a week to work from the office.
The company is updating its Return To Office policy with most workers working from a corporate office for at least 39 days per quarter bringing it to three days work week.
Recent findings shared by Business Insider reveal that remote workers at Dell will not be eligible for promotions or permitted to transition to different roles within the company.
According to the updated policy revision of Dell, the employees were informed that starting in May, the majority will be categorized as either “hybrid” or “remote.”
As per the recent memo, the Remote team members must recognize the trade-offs: Advancing in their careers, which includes seeking new roles within the company, necessitates transitioning to a hybrid onsite status.
