An Indian multinational information technology services and consulting company, HCLTech Chief Delivery Officer Appa Rao VV has quit the organization.
The company said, “This is to inform you that Mr. Appa Rao VV, Chief Delivery Officer – Nearshore & New Vistas locations of the Company and a Senior Management Personnel, has resigned from the services of the Company. His last date with the company was November 22, 2023.”
“The Company would like to place on record its immense gratitude for the services rendered by him and his contributions to the Company”, the company added.
Rao was the company’s chief human resources officer before he took up the chief delivery officer role in October 2022. Ramachandran Sundararajan had succeeded him as chief HR officer at the time. He joined the company in 2012 as Delivery Unit Head and worked for various leadership positions at HCLTech.
Recently, the company announced various leadership changes. HCLTech has announced the appointment of Sonia Eland as Executive Vice President and Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand with effect from April 1, 2024. In her new role, Sonia will report to Swapan Johri, President, Growth Markets at HCLTech.
Sonia will be based in Sydney and takes over from Michael Horton who moves into a consulting role after a successful stint of close to 10 years during which he helped establish HCLTech as a trusted digital technology services partner in Australia and New Zealand.
Moreover, HCLTech has asked its employees to come to the office and work at least three days a week.
C Vijayakumar, CEO and Managing Director, HCLTech said “Continuously working away from the office is not a good idea at all. He said that the company is giving some flexibility to the employees on what these three days will be.”
Recently, The company is planning to hire 10,000 freshers this year.
Ramachandran Sundararajan, chief people officer, HCLTech said, “Usually the July-September quarter has the highest intake.”
“We will close the year with about 10,000. Whatever we did in H1 will do equal in numbers in H2,” Ramachandran Sundararajan added.
There is a sharp fall from the 27,000 it onboarded last financial year. Earlier, The company deferred salary hikes for their employees by one quarter.
