Neeraj Garg appointed new CEO of Hindustan Coca-Cola
It has appointed Neeraj Garg as the new Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) effective January 1. Garg succeeds Christina Ruggiero. Garg is currently the President of the West Africa Business Unit of the beverage major.

Coca-Cola has made key changes in the leadership team of its India and southwest Asia operations including at its Indian bottling arm, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd, as part of a global restructuring plan.

It has appointed Neeraj Garg as the new Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) effective January 1. Garg succeeds Christina Ruggiero. Garg is currently the President of the West Africa Business Unit of the beverage major.

Garg joined Coca-Cola in India in 1994 and went on to hold a variety of leadership roles both with the company and its Bottling Investments Group (BIG). During his tenure in China, Garg was franchise general manager for Shanghai. In 2011, he became vice president of Franchise Operations for BIG India, followed by a role as vice president of the South West Asia Region/general manager of the juice business for the India and South West Asia business unit.

In 2015, Garg relocated to Istanbul as a general manager for the Caucasus and Central Asia Region before becoming general manager, New Growth Portfolio President, West Africa, in 2018.

Prior to joining Coca-Cola, Garg worked with Procter & Gamble India for six years in several roles.

Garg holds an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Delhi and a mechanical engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University.

Ruggiero, the first women CEO of HCCB, will be ending her three-year stint at the company and take on a new leadership role. She has been appointed as the President of Central Operations, North America Operating Unit, the Coca-Cola Company.

Neeraj takes over from here, coming in with extensive FMCG experience. Since Neeraj has worked across global markets, HCCB will find his insights and expertise extremely useful in unlocking the next phase of growth for HCCB in India.”

In September, the beverage major had stated that Sanket Ray will be taking over as the new President of Coca-Cola India and southwest Asia operating unit. T Krishnakumar will take over the role of the Chairman of Coca-Cola India Inc on January 1, 2021.
