SHRM Appoints Sean Sullivan Chief HR Officer


The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)  has named Sean Sullivan as its chief human resource officer, effective Feb. 4, 2019.- Press Release

Sullivan has almost 30 years of experience leading and implementing HR strategies that drive business results. He will be responsible for leading SHRM’s HR function, including people strategy, organizational development and culture.

Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP. “His background is exactly the right fit for SHRM as we continue to elevate our profession and represent the positive change we want to see in the workplace.” 

Sullivan has broad experience developing and delivering on operational HR strategies across complex, multinational organizations. Most recently, he served as vice president of human resources at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, where he was responsible for all aspects of human capital practices and labor relations for a 5,500-employee academic medical center.

Previously, Sullivan served as vice president of human resources at Science Applications International Corporation; a $4 billion publicly traded Technology Company with 15,000 employees worldwide. Sullivan holds a master’s degree in public administration and a bachelor’s degree in political science/American studies from Syracuse University.

He has been a member of SHRM since 1999 and is a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
