IIT Madras has announced a significant collaboration with Renault Nissan Tech to create a robust framework for fostering talent development and innovation.
This partnership aims to provide internships and placement opportunities for IIT Madras BS Degree students, enriching their academic experience and preparing them for future challenges in the automotive and technology sectors.
IIT Madras and Renault Nissan Tech Partnership Details
The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exchanged on November 15, 2024, at the IIT Madras campus.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof Prathap Haridoss, Dean (Academic Courses) at IIT Madras, Debashis Neogi, Managing Director of Renault Nissan Tech, and Prof Andrew Thangaraj, Chair of the Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) at IIT Madras.
The partnership will benefit around 35,000 students pursuing a BS Degree at the institution.
The collaboration aims to enhance the academic experience of IIT Madras students through various initiatives.
These include mentorship programs, viva sessions, and leadership talks led by Renault Nissan Tech experts.
These initiatives provide students with real-world insights and practical knowledge. This helps them develop the skills needed to succeed in their careers.
Upskilling Professionals: Shared Vision and Goals
In addition to benefiting students, the partnership also focuses on upskilling Renault Nissan Tech employees.
The college’s Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) achieves this.
The programs offered include executive education certificate programs, Web-enabled M.Tech Degree Programs, and NPTEL courses.
These initiatives aim to equip Renault Nissan Tech employees with advanced knowledge and skills.
This will enable them to tackle emerging challenges in the automotive and technology sector.
