Future Generali India Insurance Company (FGII) has proudly turned a new page in its DEI journey with the launch of its exclusive coffee table book, It’s a Onederful World.
This special edition book brings to life stories of inclusion, resilience, and change, marking a significant milestone in FGII’s commitment to DEI.
PwDs Now Account for 1% of Workforce at FGII
FGII has achieved a landmark achievement by ensuring that 1% of its workforce is made up of PwDs.
The company’s PwD workforce has grown to 41 employees across 16 regional branches. Nearly 22% of these PwD hires are women.
A distinguished lineup of celebrity guests graced the book launch event.
These included acclaimed actor and producer Rana Daggubati and renowned actress and Bharatanatyam dancer Sudha Chandran.
The event also featured two-time Paralympic champion Avani Lekhara and CEO of Bollant Industries, Srikanth Bolla.
These trailblazers, along with FGII’s PwD employees, share their inspirational stories in It’s a Onederful World, celebrating the spirit of inclusion and resilience.
DEI Journey and Initiatives at FGII
In 2022, FGII embarked on a journey to make DEI a strategic priority.
FGII has introduced policy changes and conducted sensitization and awareness sessions.
The company has also launched truly inclusive products for the LGBTQIA+ community and women.
FGII has left no stone unturned in its quest to become a truly inclusive employer, insurer, and responsible corporate citizen.
Speaking at the launch, Anup Rau, Managing Director and CEO of FGII, said, “Inclusion cannot be just a policy—it has to be a lived reality.”
He added, “True inclusion means every stakeholder has a seat at the table, ensuring that the solutions we create reflect the diverse communities we serve.”
Anup stated, “We are proud that 1% of our workforce is made up of differently-abled individuals—not as an obligation, but as a commitment to talent, perspective, and potential.”
A Thoughtfully Curated Tribute: Blueprint for DEI
It’s a Onederful World is available in Braille and audio format, making it accessible to a wider audience.
The book features insights from notable personalities such as Rana Daggubati, Sudha Chandran, and Arunima Sinha.
It also includes stories from Avani Lekhara, Srikanth Bolla, and oncologist Dr. Suresh Advani.
Additionally, it highlights Minati Barik, a PwD who courageously contested the Panchayat elections from her Odisha village.
It also highlights the voices of passionate advocates like Faye D’Souza, Virali Modi, Nipun Malhotra, and Tiffany Brar.
The book delves into the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Act, 2016. It also serves as a blueprint for organizations looking to embark on a meaningful DEI journey.
The launch event reinforced FGII’s unwavering dedication to creating an inclusive workforce, setting a benchmark for the industry to follow.
