This year, the governments of UP and Bihar have announced early disbursement of salaries for their state govt employees.
Diwali, one of the most significant festivals in Hindu culture, is celebrated with great enthusiasm across India.
UP Bihar’s Early Salary Mandate for Govt Employees
The Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh has taken a proactive step to benefit approximately 1.8 million state employees.
October salaries are required to be credited by October 30 as per the mandate.
This move aims to provide a much-needed financial boost to government employees ahead of the festive season.
Not to be outdone, the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government has also announced its own Diwali gift for state employees.
Starting from October 25, Bihar government employees will begin receiving their salaries.Â
This early salary disbursement will benefit around 800,000 state employees, ensuring they have additional funds during the festive period.
Central Government Employees’ Hike in DA
In related news, the Union Cabinet approved a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees.
Effective from July 1, 2024, this increase will positively impact approximately 49.18 lakh central government employees and 64.89 lakh pensioners.
The combined impact on the exchequer due to both DA and Dearness Relief (DR) will be Rs 9,448.35 crore per annum.Â
This decision aligns with the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission. Every year, we celebrate Diwali on the Amavasya date of Kartik month.
On this auspicious day, people worship Lord Ganesha, Goddess Saraswati, and Kuber ji alongside Goddess Lakshmi.
Lakshmi Puja, performed during Diwali, holds immense significance for devotees.
