NSTI Extension Centre Inaugurated by Union Minister in AP

In a significant step towards addressing skill gaps in Andhra Pradesh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, inaugurated the new National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) extension centre at the Andhra Medical Tech Zone (AMTZ) campus.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from candidates eager to enhance their vocational skills.

Shri Jayant Chaudhary expressed his delight at the establishment of this state-of-the-art facility, emphasizing its role in empowering the local workforce.

The NSTI extension centre boasts modern infrastructure, equipped with cutting-edge training facilities. This investment underscores the government’s commitment to fostering skill development.

Union Minister highlighted the importance of industry partnerships. Corporations in Andhra Pradesh play a crucial role in shaping skilled manpower.

By engaging with industry leaders, the NSTI aims to align training programs with industry needs.

The Union Minister stressed the need to make skilling aspirational for young learners. He cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting vocational courses alongside traditional degrees.

The NSTI extension centre aims to create an environment where students actively consider vocational training as a viable career path.

Statewide Impact

Andhra Pradesh, with its more than 1000 ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes), contributes significantly to the national skilling landscape.

Jayant urged stakeholders to reform these institutions, provide world-class infrastructure, and train instructors to meet industry demands.

On this occasion, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were exchanged between NSTI and institutions such as Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), and the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET).
