
The founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kartik Mandaville, of a start-up said that he received more than 3,000 resumes in 48 hours against job postings on the company website.

Kartik Mandaville shared the update on Twitter where his post became a hit, attracting close to 1.5 lakh views. The tweet is getting a reaction which is correct.
One Twitter user said, “Bad, very bad. Trust you have seen the latest TCS results. 5 lakh employees and they have added only 500 headcounts.”
“Good luck with the interviews. Would love to hear your views after you ask about ‘expectations’ from some of these candidates”, another user wrote.
The post indicates the effects of the current market in 2023 as major IT companies have either frozen the hiring or laid off employees.
This is just an after-effect as the big IT companies are facing a decrease in headcount. Wipro employee count has gone down by 8,812 individuals in the June quarter. The total employee count at Wipro experienced a decline, reaching 249,758 by the end of the first quarter, in comparison to 258,570 at the end of the previous fiscal year, FY23.
HCLTech has 223,438 people across 60 countries. The company total workforce as on 31 March 2023 stood at 225,944. The company’s headcount on a net basis has declined by 2,506 employees.
TCS workforce strength of 615,318. The company’s net headcount addition of 523 its headcount as of March 31, 2023, stood at 6,14,795.
Not only this so far in 2023, there have been 1,253 layoffs at tech companies with 319,684 people impacted (1,615 people per day). However, In 2022, there were 1,557 layoffs at tech companies 243,318 people impacted (667 people per day).
