Hyderabad: The Emerging Global Hub for AI and GCCs

Hyderabad is on the brink of becoming a global hub for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Global Capability Centres (GCCs), thanks to its robust infrastructure and a rich pool of skilled human resources.

This transformation is driven by the proactive measures of the Telangana government, aiming to create a world-class ecosystem for attracting global investments and fostering innovation.

Government Initiatives in Hyderabad

During a recent event, Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu highlighted the government’s commitment to establishing a conducive environment for research and development (R&D).

The proposed AI City, spread across 200 acres, is set to position Telangana ahead of other states in the country.

The minister emphasized that Hyderabad already hosts global giants in the IT, healthcare, and life sciences sectors, and the vision is to bring the essence of Silicon Valley to the city.

Hyderabad’s favorable ecosystem supports industries such as aerospace, defense, power, banking, digital payments, and industrial manufacturing.

This diverse industrial landscape makes it an attractive destination for GCCs.

The city’s robust infrastructure and skilled workforce are key factors contributing to its potential as a global hub for AI and GCCs.

The minister urged the US-India Business Council (USIBC) to introduce Telangana to American businesses.

He also called for the facilitation of further investments in the state.

Global Partnerships

The signing of a bilateral trade partnership agreement between the USIBC and the Telangana government marks a significant step.

US Consul General for Hyderabad Jennifer Larson, Telangana Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, USIBC Managing Director Rahul Sharma, and Senior Director Aditya Kaushik were among the dignitaries present at the event.

The minister reiterated Telangana’s commitment to fostering innovation and creating a vibrant industrial landscape.

The proactive measures taken by the government further strengthen this positioning.

The city’s strategic focus on decentralizing technological facilities and empowering Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities further strengthens its position.

The minister emphasized that Hyderabad’s role in the global economic growth story is crucial. The state’s ambition is to remain at the forefront of the AI sector in India.
