NTT DATA Launches Generative AI Talent Development Framework

NTT DATA, a global leader in IT services, has recently unveiled its Generative AI (GenAI) Talent Development Framework.

This structured program aims to accelerate GenAI training across its vast global workforce.

The initiative focuses on creating highly skilled professionals who can harness the power of generative AI to drive innovation and enhance business outcomes.

NTT Data: GenAI Talent Development Framework

With the rapid advancement of generative AI, talent development has become a social imperative.

NTT DATA recognizes this urgency and is committed to equipping its employees with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital age.

The company’s vision is to cultivate a workforce that not only understands AI but can also apply it effectively across various domains and industries.

The GenAI Talent Development Framework has ambitious goals:

The program targets NTT DATA’s approximately 200,000 employees worldwide, including more than 40,000 employees in India—the largest contingent outside the company’s home base in Japan.

By the end of fiscal year 2024, NTT DATA aims to certify at least 15,000 high-level GenAI practitioners.

These practitioners will possess deep expertise in generative AI, enabling them to lead technology innovations and deployments.

Looking ahead, the company plans to double the number of certified GenAI practitioners to 30,000 or more by fiscal year 2026.

Framework Levels and Impact on Business

The GenAI Talent Development Framework defines four levels of expertise:

Fundamental Knowledge: All employees will receive fundamental GenAI training.

This foundational understanding will empower them to engage with AI concepts and applications.

Intermediate Practitioners: For those seeking deeper expertise, the framework provides tailored training based on roles and industry specializations.

Consultants, developers, GenAI users, salespeople, and other roles will benefit from targeted learning experiences.

Expert Leaders: At the highest level, expert leaders will drive GenAI development and deployment for clients.

These individuals will shape the future of AI within NTT DATA and beyond.

NTT DATA’s commitment to AI upskilling is not just about internal development.

GenAI experts will play a crucial role in advising and supporting clients as they adopt AI solutions.

By nurturing a skilled workforce, NTT DATA aims to enhance its competitive edge and deliver exceptional value to its clients.
