20% TCS employees are working from office, which will push up to 80%

The covid cases have constantly decreased over time many companies have already started working from the office. India’s largest IT services firm, TCS plans to work from an office over time.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced that 20% of its employees over 6 lakh headcount are now working from their allocated workplace. As some of the staff working from the office, TCS’s work-from-home policy is gradually being phased down.

Rajesh Gopinathan – CEO & Managing Director, TCS said, “The 25/25 plan must be carried out in a more controlled manner, and the route to that will first require returning to a more regular working environment, followed by the permanent hybrid model.”

“We’ll keep pushing it up to our normal levels — 50-60-70-80% — as we move forward. We should see consistent development on it every month from now on”, Gopinathan added.

During the interaction with media following the announcement of the April-June quarter results, Rajesh Gopinathan stated that for the time being, the business will push the return to office more until it reaches pre-pandemic levels, or at least 80%. Following that, the TCS 25/25 model will be implemented, he stated.

The business seeks to create a hybrid work model by 2025. As the company is following the office work pattern following the epidemic as the business attempts to return to a typical.

Under the 25X25 model, employees will not be required to work more than 25% of the time. Only 25% of staff in project teams can be co-located.

“This model will require no more than 25% of our associates to work from an office at any given point in time, and they need not spend more than 25% of their time in the office. But an important part of the journey to the 25/25 model is to first bring people back to physical offices and gradually transition into the hybrid work model” The company said on the 25X25 model.

TCS has reported a 5.2 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 9,478 crore for the first quarter ended June 30.
