Mitel appoints Sophie Ames as new EVP & Chief People Officer

A global leader in business communications, Mitel has announced the appointment of Sophie Ames as EVP and chief People Officer (CPO).

In this role, she will be responsible for leading Mitel’s People & Culture function globally. Moreover, she will be overseeing the company’s HR operations in over 30 countries.

“For 50 years, the ingenuity and dedication of Mitel employees have produced award-winning solutions and programs which have earned the trust of millions of customers, empowered our partners, and made Mitel a leader in the communications space,” said Tarun Loomba, Mitel President and Chief Executive Officer.

“As we move into Mitel’s next chapter, our people continue to be our most important asset and the key to our future success”, Tarun Loomba added.

Tarun Loomba further said, “Sophie’s global experience, knowledge of the technology market, and passion for talent development will help Mitel strengthen our culture of excellence as we focus on accelerating growth.”

Sophie Ames has nearly 25 years of HR experience in the technology sector. She was working as SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer for ServiceMax.

Previously, she was SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Veritas Technologies where she was responsible for a comprehensive HR transformation.

Her earlier stints include working with AMDOCS, Thomson Legal & Regulatory, and Berlitz International.
