HCL to hire 1.5k employees for Nagpur unit by 2024

IT giant, HCL Technologies said that it will expand its presence in Mihan, Nagpur, and plans to increase its workforce to 5,000 in its 140-acres campus in the following two years.

HCL Nagpur campus is operational since 2018 and has a current strength of 3500+ employees. In its Nagpur facility, HCL has been creating job opportunities for local talent.

The company proudly states that it has over 80% of the talent at the campus belonging to Nagpur through its #ComeBackHome and #StayRooted campaigns.

The Nagpur campus is focused on Engineering & R&D Services (ERS), Application Development, and Infrastructure Management Services line of business.

The Center along with the HCL’s vision to build and operate a state-of-the-art global IT development hub and recruit, train and employ local talent and create a sustainable ecosystem for them.

Apparao VV, CHRO of the company said, “The New Vista of HCL Technologies provides talent in India with innovative opportunities and platforms that will provide them with the skills they need to play a key role in the technology landscape.”

He added, “Nagpur is an important strategic hub for HCL Technologies, and it continues to significantly enhance our delivery capabilities to 70+ global customers across various businesses. We have seen significant momentum in the IT industry in Nagpur and aim to build world-class capacity at our state-of-the-art campus spread over 140 acres.”

HCL Technologies has around 45% of its workforce as fresher. The company focuses on the training and development of freshers. The company has inducted 500+ ‘HCL Techbees’ who have joined the company after completing the 12th standard.

The students of HCL TechBee undergo rigorous training for 12 months and also pursue higher education before starting work on the projects. The company is also known for promoting gender diversity in its workforce. It has over 30% of recruits being women.
